Unified Sports
Chon Man is a Special Olympics Youth Leader from Macau who will lead a Youth Innovation Project that promotes inclusion through Unified Bowling.
Chon Man plans to recruit volunteers and Youth Leaders at local schools to help implement this project, which will include a bowling competition and the opportunity for youth to share their experience. By providing a new chance for youth with and without intellectual disabilities to come together, Chon Man hopes to create a collaborative and inclusive team environment, as well as raise awareness about Special Olympics.
Over nine months, Chon Man has a goal of engaging 200 Youth Leaders in the process of planning, hosting, and participating in an inclusive bowling competition. By enlisting the Youth Leaders’ help in promoting the event at their schools and involving them in the planning process, Chon Man will help them to develop their leadership skills for the future. After the bowling competition is over, participants will also be empowered to share their experience as a way of further raising awareness and allowing them to improve their communication and presentation skills. With this project, Chon Man is doing his part to improve the physical fitness of youth and to create a more inclusive environment in his community.
