Omar is a Special Olympics Youth Leader from Kuwait. Omar will lead a Youth Innovation Project using football as a tool to empower and unite youth with and without intellectual disabilities.
Omar will engage Unified Schools, Unified Champion Schools, and the wider community to build a more inclusive society for youth with intellectual disabilities in Kuwait.
Over the course of six months, Omar will implement a series of United Sports activities. He will leverage existing community partnerships, social media, radio advertisements, and newspapers to raise awareness about his event and Special Olympics activities. Omar hopes that these Unified activities are the springboard to sustainable inclusion for youth with intellectual disabilities. He hopes that by uniting youth through sports, he will also be able to provide leadership training for 10 new Youth Leaders who will be recruited through planning and implementation activities.
