Through their project, Juan José and Jair hope to provide an inclusive and safe space for Special Olympics athletes to share their feelings and express concerns with others. Due to isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Juan José and Jair are hopeful their project will support individuals with forming new relationships and creating a supportive network of young people across Mexico.

Over the course of six months, Juan José and Jair will host several digital conversations for Special Olympics athletes. Before starting these conversations, they will send a survey to participants to determine what topics they are interested in learning more about. Participants will engage in two group conversations, based on areas of interest, and have the opportunity to continue conversations with their network after the conclusion of the project. Through their project, Juan José and Jair hope to develop the confidence of Special Olympics athletes and empower them to share their experiences in the future. By creating opportunities for collaboration, Juan José and Jair believe they can create more inclusive communities across Mexico.
