Sofia and Bianca believe that by educating participants on the new guidelines, they will ease the transition to a new environment, reduce the stress and anxiety imposed by change and uncertainty, and most importantly, ensure their return to the “new” normal is inclusive and safe. Sofia and Bianca believe their project will facilitate a safe and healthy reintroduction to Special Olympics programs and activities and support individuals as they join back together to spread inclusion throughout their communities.

Sofia and Bianca will plan and implement six months of interactive activities that will include promoting community awareness about intellectual disabilities, physician-led workshops on health, wellness, nutrition, and safety protocols, and art-based activities, including interactive fitness and dance and other activities. Sofia and Bianca hope their project will help reintroduce individuals with and without disabilities to Special Olympics programming in a way that will be exciting while also easing the transition to change. Sofia and Bianca hope to recruit new members of the Unified Generation as they work to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while reintroducing Special Olympics Unified programming across Argentina.
