This project aimed to educate youth, students, and family members on the importance of creating inclusive spaces for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). It emphasized equal opportunity in everyday life, work, and relationships.

To support this goal, youth leaders and brothers Petros and Daniel designed fun sports activities that encouraged everyone to participate. Their project was centered on the idea of sport as a vehicle to move participants toward a more inclusive and creative world.
The project was inspired by the close-knit community of Special Olympics Cyprus, including their strong mentorship and a supportive team environment.
The project had two main components. First, it focused on educating the local Cyprus community about the importance of everyday inclusion. Second, it involved developing engaging and accessible sports activities to bring community members together.

The youth leaders successfully achieved their objectives, spreading the message of building a more inclusive world through sport.
The project engaged youth, students, and adults across Limassol in both direct participation and broader community awareness activities. A total of 90 youth and 25 adults participated directly in sports-based inclusion activities, with additional indirect reach extending to families and the wider community. The initiative also supported the involvement of youth in leadership and planning roles, strengthening local ownership of inclusion efforts. Beyond participation, the project contributed to systems-level impact by establishing one new Unified Champion School and strengthening collaboration with three partner organizations.
The youth leaders reflected on their growth in confidence, particularly in speaking in front of unfamiliar audiences and presenting their ideas publicly. They also gained experience collaborating with Special Olympics Cyprus and communicating with various organizations to promote their goals.

Following these successful presentations and conversations, brothers Petros and Daniel were invited to join the Youth Leadership Board. They are proud to continue supporting the movement toward a more inclusive world.
