Dr Wei Ker-Chiah is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist and his sub-specialty interest is in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities. As Head of the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service at the Institute of Mental Health, he set up Singapore’s first specialist inter-disciplinary psychiatric clinic for adults with developmental disabilities at the hospital in 2012. The clinic has since expanded to comprise of a range of specialist inpatient and outpatient mental health services for adults with developmental disabilities. He also helmed the IMH-MSF ID Consultancy and more recently, the Assertive Interventions in Developmental Disability (AIDD) Programmes, which are joint projects with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) that provides clinical support and skills training to Social Service Agencies caring for people with disabilities.
