Unified Football World Cup

The Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup (previously referred to as the Unified Cup) presented by Toyota was hosted in Detroit, Michigan in July 2022. As the second iteration of the Cup, this single sport competition was built on the inaugural installment in Chicago in 2018.

In 2026, for the first time, France will host the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup in Paris. This, the third edition of the Cup, will take place 6 – 11 July across venues in the heart of Paris.

Unified Schools

Unified Schools give educators, students, administrators and coaches the power to create a more inclusive world and help end the stigma around intellectual disabilities.

ICOACHGIRLS+

The project lead for this project is The International Council of Coaching Excellence. The aim is to get more young girls participating in sport. Our main role for SOEE is to recruit and maintain young girls with ID in sport. The project started in July 2022 and will finish by 30th June 2025. The other partners in the project are Sport Ireland, Lithuania Sports University, FIBA Europe, Hungarian Coaching Association and the Netherlands Olympic Committee.

Healthy Athletes System

The Healthy Athletes System (HAS) enables the electronic capture of screening data across the Healthy Athletes disciplines.

Reaching the Diagnosis

Children are diagnosed with ID/DD through medical, psychological, and educational evaluations. These evaluations are usually performed by a team of providers from different disciplines.
