World Games Berlin 2023 Subject Matter Experts

As Berlin, Germany gears up to host the next Special Olympics World Games in 2023, Special Olympics is pleased to announce the selection of the SO Connect Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). SMEs support the Local Organizing Committee, SOI Technical Delegates, and volunteer SO Connect Operators in daily competition management operations. This includes providing technical support and process management, competition information management, and communication with delegations as it relates to results. Strong Minds is an interactive learning activity focused on developing adaptive coping skills. Competition provides a natural opportunity to develop active strategies for maintaining emotional wellness under stress, such as: thinking positive thoughts, releasing stress and connecting with others.

National Education Leaders Network Members

Special Olympics Unified Champion School’s National Education Leaders Network (NELN) is made up of nearly two dozen leaders in special education, research, social equity, and education leadership. The NELN will work to accelerate the UCS strategy by providing insights, direction, opportunities, and access to national education conversations. This diverse network will offer refreshing outlooks and we look forward to their expertise and guidance. The leadership appointment is part of a comprehensive nomination process that occurs every three years.
