Special Olympics Italia National Winter Games 2024

The Special Olympics Italia Winter Games 2024 took place 4 – 8 March 2024 in Sestriere, Pragelato, Entracque and Borgo Sandalmazzo. 

The Games offered competitions in 6 disciplines (Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Floorball and DanceSport) and welcomed 600 ca athletes from Special Olympics Italy, Special Olympics Austria, Special Olympics Germany, Special Olympics Hungary and Special Olympics Latvia

Special Olympics is a global organization that serves athletes with intellectual disabilities working with hundreds of thousands of volunteers and coaches each year. Since the establishment of Special Olympics in 1968, the number of people with and without intellectual disabilities who are involved with the organization has been growing, but the unmet need to reach more people with intellectual disabilities is staggering.

Special Olympics in Europe and Eurasia encompasses a diverse range of cultures, languages and customs. Special Olympics offers 30-plus Olympic-style individual and team sports that provide meaningful training and competition opportunities for persons with intellectual disabilities.
