In December 2016 the newly elected regional inclusive Youth Activation Committee met for the first time in Frankfurt, Germany to discuss how to develop youth engagement in their own programs and throughout Europe-Eurasia.
The committee is made up of inclusive youth pairs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Great Britain and Serbia. The committee “hit the ground running” as a participant described the meeting held 11-12 December. Discussion facilitators were Bettina Lehmann, regional youth and Tobias Staebler, Unified Sports coordinators.
During the meeting, committee members were assigned roles that connect them to regional councils, expert groups and staff as well as their own programs. In these roles and through their youth-led initiatives, the aim is to create a dynamic structure throughout the region to ensure that the opinions, interests and actions of youth are considered.
The meeting was funded in part by Erasmas+, an EU program focused on education, training, youth and sport.
