With additional guidance from health and sport experts, and in alignment with the French Government, the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has rescheduled competition on 10 – 11 July to begin at 8am. This adjustment has been made to mitigate the impact of forecasted high temperatures and ensure the safest possible conditions for all players and participants.
This decision, taken in coordination with Special Olympics, the LOC, and sport and medical professionals, reflects our commitment to safeguarding while maintaining the integrity and quality of competition.
As a result, all matches from 7 – 11 July will now commence at 8am and conclude by 12:30pm for the remainder of the tournament period.
Non-competition events will continue to take place at their originally scheduled venues. Updated timings for these activities are being confirmed and will be shared alongside the revised competition schedule on specialolympics.org as soon as possible.

In compliance with the French Government directives, Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup Paris 2026 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has adjusted the official competition schedule in response to forecasted extreme heat in Paris from 7 – 9 July.
The health, safety and wellbeing of all athletes, delegations, officials, volunteers, staff and spectators remains our highest priority. As a result, selected matches and non-competition activities have been rescheduled to cooler periods of the day.
This decision has been taken jointly with health experts, sport officials, government representatives, the LOC, and Special Olympics, in line with established heat-management and athlete safeguarding protocols.
Special Olympics remains committed to delivering a world-class event while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
