The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 have officially begun with the Opening Ceremony held on 17 June 2023.

On 7 June, the Special Olympics Flame of Hope was lit in Athens, Greece and then began making its way to the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. This flame, carried by members of the 2023 LETR Final Leg, will light the cauldron during Opening Ceremonies to mark the official start to the Games.
