Pauline and Tenahlee are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Papua New Guinea who will lead a Youth Innovation Project to bring awareness to the issues of bullying and the positive effects of inclusion regarding individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID).
Over the course of 12 months, Pauline and Tenahlee plan to spend the majority of their time on raising awareness, connecting with individuals, and sharing information. By the completion, the goal is to influence 90 others to become Youth Leaders. Towards the end of the project, a two-day camp will be held with those individuals engaged by the project. This camp will teach intervention tactics to addresses bullying, include Unified sports activities, the sharing of stories to workshop practical steps on how to improve difficult situations, and the capturing of anecdotes through social media. Pauline and Tenahlee will utilize education and advocacy to further inspire inclusive communities in Papua New Guinea.
