Vivien Karina and Zsofia’s project will help strengthen the Special Olympics movement and foster a culture of inclusion in Hungary. Through their project, Vivien Karina and Zsofia hope to engage and educate students with and without intellectual disabilities, teachers, and community members about inclusion. They will implement programs that initiate conversations, connections, partnerships, and activities among participants to support their mission. By demonstrating the positive effects Unified programs have on creating a more inclusive society, Vivien Karina and Zsofia’s project will increase Unified Schools and the number of Special Olympics Youth Leaders in Hungary to help spread the message of inclusion.

Over nine months, Vivien Karina and Zsofia will prepare a new generation of Special Olympics Youth Leaders and teachers to be ambassadors for Special Olympics in their schools and communities. Through meetings and workshops, Vivien Karina and Zsofia will engage over 400 students with and without intellectual disabilities in interactive programming that demonstrates the benefits Unified Sports provides to participants. By expanding programming in existing Unified Schools and engaging new Special Olympics Youth Leaders and teachers, Vivien Karina and Zsofia will work to add three new Unified Schools and increase participation in Unified programs as Special Olympics Hungary prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Vivien Karina and Zsofia will empower and inspire the Unified Generation to join them as leaders in the global movement for inclusion.
