Thi Ha and Thi Cam Ly are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Vietnam who have witnessed the way Unified activities connect people and reveal hidden talents.

This inspired them to lead a Youth Innovation Project that helps youth with intellectual disabilities in Hue province become integrated into the community through Unified Sports. By creating more opportunities for youth with and without intellectual disabilities to learn and play together, Thi Ha and Thi Cam Ly hope to help youth understand one another better and inspire them to spread the Special Olympics spirit across the province.

Over nine months, Thi Ha and Thi Cam Ly will engage 100 youth with and without intellectual disabilities in community activities like life skills, sports, art, and even career sharing and guidance sessions. Another goal of this project is to create a playground for students with intellectual disabilities, where activities like this can be maintained over time. Not only will this project expand the reach of current Unified Schools, but it will aid in the development of new Unified Schools so even more students can be impacted. As members of the Unified Generation, Thi Ha and Thi Cam Ly believe Unified activities like these will enable all young people with intellectual disabilities to recognize their value.
