Marie Penda and Aminata are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Senegal who will be a leading a Youth Innovation Project to train themselves to become comfortable with the production of videos for the Special Olympics Senegal YouTube page.
Marie Penda and Aminata are inspired to take action to address the lack of employment opportunities for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in Senegal. Thus, Aminata, a Youth Leader with an Intellectual Disability, will train to become a part of the Digital Media Team and a cameraperson with the help of Marie Penda. After training is complete, the two Youth Leaders will produce relevant videos. The inclusive leadership of Marie Penda and Aminata will be a necessary step in promoting the Unified Generation in Senega.

Over the course of 3 months, the Special Olympics Youth Leaders plan to reach over 1000 social media impressions via their newly created YouTube videos. The videos will showcase the learning process of the Youth Leader media training, Region-specific information on how to best prevent COVID-19, and a final video during World Food Day encouraging healthy cooking. Marie Penda and Aminata hope that these videos will foster a sense of community during a time of mass disconnect. Marie Penda and Aminata are setting an example of meaningful inclusion within their own work and hope that they will influence an entire generation to do the same through the videos they will produce.
