Project Year
2021
Raghad and Leen are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Lebanon who will lead a Youth Innovation Project to promote inclusion through the Spread the Word Inclusion campaign by launching education programs and events at schools and universities across Lebanon.
Throughout their project, Raghad and Leen hope to engage and educate students, faculty, and community members about inclusion and implement programs that support the Spread the Word Inclusion campaign to foster a culture of acceptance in their communities. Their project will culminate with a virtual [SW1] event bringing together youth with and without intellectual disabilities, teachers, and community members to discuss how they can unite to create a more inclusive society.

Throughout the year, Raghad and Leen will expand Special Olympics programming at 10 Unified Schools, host several "Take the Pledge" events, create new sports programs, and increase the number of Special Olympics Youth Leaders across Lebanon. They also hope to create two Unified Schools and two Unified Champion Schools within Special Olympics Lebanon. By focusing on the Spread the Word Inclusion campaign, Raghad and Leen hope to bring education and awareness to others and motivate their community to commit to a culture of inclusion. Raghad and Leen hope to inspire others through their leadership programs and engage new Youth Leaders and students to foster the growth of the Unified Generation.
