Emily and Stephanie are Special Olympics Youth Leaders from Connecticut who will lead a Youth Innovation Project that connects participants with and without intellectual disabilities using technology.
Through their project, they will expand the current Unified Sports programming at their high school and foster friendships and connections schoolwide. Emily and Stephanie's project encourages the implementation of fitness and healthy lifestyle activities through their school's Unified Sports program and also promotes a culture of inclusion.

Emily and Stephanie created the Movement Club at their school. This organization was designed to create connections between students with and without intellectual disabilities by developing fun, welcoming, adaptable, and inclusive activities that unite participants through virtual interactions using wearable technology. Emily and Stephanie’s Youth Innovation Project will support purchasing technology devices and software to increase program accessibility for participants, sponsor software training workshops, and implement accessible fitness activities. Through their project, they hope to integrate technology and fitness as a way to strengthen the culture of inclusion and healthy lifestyles in their school. Emily and Stephanie believe that connecting students through a common platform will expand The Movement's Club reach. They hope to to encourage and inspire participants while also expanding their school's Unified Sports program. Through their project, Emily and Stephanie hope to provide bridge the gap between students with and without intellectual disabilities and ensure everyone has a chance to live and be part of the Unified Generation.
