Lumka and Zamange Lebohang ’s project will connect and train Youth Leaders from Special Olympics South Africa programs to open discussions and host workshops to share ideas on how to expand and improve programs and generate new Youth Leaders. Lumka and Zamange Lebohang believe their project will provide Youth Leaders with additional ideas and tools to help them inspire and empower others to join the Unified Generation to spread the word inclusion across South Africa.

Over nine months, Lumka and Zamange Lebohang will lead a team of Youth Leaders with and without intellectual disabilities to plan, promote, and implement Special Olympics South Africa Unified Leadership training programs. These programs will connect Youth Leaders from across South Africa to train, collaborate, and share ideas to strengthen and expand Special Olympics programming and the Athlete Input Council in their regions. Workshops and breakout sessions during workshops will demonstrate, educate, motivate, and inspire participants to expand their roles as Youth Leaders in the inclusion infusion in South Africa. Lumka and Zamange Lebohang believe their project will provide Youth Leaders with additional tools and ideas to share with their local Special Olympics community and help recruit new Youth Leaders to join them as part of the Unified Generation to foster a culture of inclusion across South Africa.
