Claudia Echeverry oversees program operations in 19 countries in Latin America providing strategic direction and engagement with the public and private sector to raise awareness and gain support. She also leads fundraising efforts for the region.
Echeverry has worked for Special Olympics for over 15 years, previously serving as the Senior Manager of Communications and then as the Director of Marketing and Communications. During this time, she has overseen some of the most important events in the Latin American region, such as the Global Athlete Congress in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and the 3rd Special Olympics Latin America Regional Games, in Panama City. Prior to joining Special Olympics, Echeverry worked in the hospitality marketing field for the Radisson Hotel chain.
Echeverry holds a undergraduate degree in business administration and two MBAs: one in marketing and the other in business management. She lives in Panama with her husband and their two children.
