The city of Sousse, Tunisia, witnessed the official opening of the 2026 10th Special Olympics MENA Games – Beach Sports, bringing together delegations from across the Middle East and North Africa.
Eng. Ayman Abdel Wahab, Regional President of Special Olympics International Middle East and North Africa, emphasized that these Games mark the beginning of a new phase of growth and expansion for Special Olympics programs and activities across the region.
Sofiane Tanfouri, Wali of Sousse, also welcomed the participating delegations, expressing Tunisia’s pride in hosting this major sporting event, which reflects the values of inclusion, solidarity, and friendship among nations.
