[Cleveland, OH – 24 September 2025] Cleveland has been officially declared the host city for the 2030 Special Olympics USA Games. The contract was signed today at a ceremony at Benesch Law in Key Tower, finalizing the agreement between leaders of the local 2030 Special Olympics USA Games Host Committee and Special Olympics North America.

Members of the Special Olympics International Health and Unified Champion Schools (UCS) teams attended and presented at the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) Conference from 23 – 25 June 2025.

Special Olympics continues to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month highlighting Special Olympics Ohio athlete, Adam Gilmer, who is pursuing work in the television/media industry.

It was a full-circle moment for Beth Meyer. The swimmer has competed for Special Olympics Ohio since 1990 but had never participated in the USA Games, the organization’s biggest domestic competition. But 2022 happened to be her year.

On Thursday, 5 March 2020, Members of Congress, the UAE Embassy, and Special Olympics USA athletes from Southern California, Virginia, D.C., Maryland, Ohio, and Connecticut gathered for a screening of The Road to Abu Dhabi, a documentary about the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

On 24 September, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield joined Special Olympics Ohio for the reveal of the first NFL-sponsored Special Olympics Unified Sports® league’s new uniforms!

More than 800 NFL players raised money and awareness for organizations supporting various causes by wearing custom cleats during the 2018 regular season.

Through a partnership with Barstool Sports, Baker Mayfield will sell a collection of T-Shirts & sweatshirts—with 100 percent of the proceeds to be donated to the Special Olympics in the greater Cleveland area.
