Bates Special Olympics Club was one of 12 Division III institutions and over 40 colleges across the country to participate in the Special Olympics Virtual College Championship Week presented by Special Olympics and ESPN this past spring.

Angel Arroyo began his Special Olympics journey as a volunteer and now serves as the Sport Director of Special Olympics Puerto Rico.

Special Olympics Coach Education and Development is delighted to announce the launch of the NEW 2021 Football Coaching Guide.

Throughout the Special Olympics community, 2020 has been a year full of unprecedented events and obstacles, many of which have never been encountered. As many things have changed, one thing has stayed consistent: the number of outstanding coaches still substantially impacting their communities.

Today’s children will be tomorrow’s leaders, teachers, coaches and parents. In recent years, particularly in the sports world, we have become increasingly aware of the responsibility we have to our children to provide them with a solid foundation for a healthy life.

I’ve been a Special Olympics North Dakota coach for 32 years. In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to coach athletes in snowshoe, cross-country skiing, bowling, basketball, volleyball, powerlifting, swimming, soccer (football) and athletics.

Moeti Clement Sethunya takes a well-rounded approached to coaching football (soccer) and floor hockey at Special Olympics South Africa using it as a building block to athlete employment.

In my role as a Special Olympics coach, Special Olympics Iran athletes taught me about the pivotal role that the Special Olympics athletes play in society.

My journey of being the National Director of Sports for Special Olympics Brazil, a tennis coach and technical delegate coincides with my love of learning.
