World Refugee Day is celebrated on 20 June to recognize individuals and families who have had to flee their homes in seek of safety. On World Refugee Day 2022, we look at the important work the Special Olympics Unified with Refugees Programme is currently doing to support Ukrainian refugees withintellectual disabilities (ID) as well as refugee communities across the world through inclusive development programming.

President and CEO of Special Olympics Europe Eurasia David Evangelista recently visited a Sanatorium in Poland, where 47 people with ID and their families are living. This work is made possible by the support of Lions Clubs International Foundation.
