Rithik Hukku is an athlete from Special Olympics Bharat India in the Asia Pacific Region. Rithik participates in cricket, bocce, softball, net ball, and running. He has been involved in Special Olympics since 2010.
Rithik’s favorite part about Special Olympics is inclusion, where he gets a say and where he has the opportunity to put his thoughts forward.
Rithik is excited for the congress in Berlin. He is looking forward to getting the opportunity to meet and greet his friends, peers, and fellow athletes and says that it will help him learn from others’ experience. Rithik is excited to share his project experience in Berlin.
When Rithik isn’t competing, he enjoys exercise, going for walks or to the gym. He also talks to his team in India almost every day. They interact and discuss things they are working on. Rithik wants to be a YouTuber as he follows many who inspire him. He loves to explore different cuisines and tries to eat healthy. Rithik also loves traveling to explore different new places.
Rithik says that being an athlete leader means to raise his voice and be heard. As an athlete leader he also trains athlete leaders, which keeps him busy. Rithik is a very active athlete leader in Special Olympics India. When he interacts with schools and athletes’ parents he tries to convince and guide them to join Special Olympics Bharat.
Project Description
Rithik’s grant plan is to develop and train new athlete leaders from 5 selected districts in person and online. The selected athletes will be required to complete the basic athlete leadership courses from the Special Olympics International e-learn portal. Athletes will be trained to create an athlete leadership plan for their districts in consultation with district officials. Various trainings will be provided for smooth functioning of the district activity plan.
