Youth leaders Sarah and Clemens brought young people from their local Special Olympics Program together for a unified trip to Erlangen focused on building connections, strengthening their youth community, and developing future leaders. Through group activities, planning sessions, and exploring Munich together, participants formed new friendships and strengthened their sense of belonging.

Strengthen the Younger Generation

Special Olympics Madagascar volunteers and participants come together to support inclusive health initiatives, promoting access to health education, wellness, and community engagement.
Strengthen the Younger Generation created inclusive opportunities for children ages 2–7 through play-based activities, educator and parent training, and Young Athletes sessions. Youth leaders Maminiaina Elia and Tsitoaina worked with educators, parents, and community members to develop and pilot inclusive activities, strengthen partnerships between schools, and bring children with and without intellectual disabilities together through sport. The project concluded with a community sports festival celebrating inclusion and the achievements of young athletes.

Unified Youth Leadership Summit

Lumka and Zama from Special Olympics South Africa scaled their previous Youth Innovation Project by organizing a Unified Youth Leadership Summit during the 2024 Unified Invitational. The Summit brought young people together to strengthen leadership skills, promote inclusion, and encourage greater involvement in the Special Olympics mission.

The Creating Together project established Unified Youth Fitness Clubs across schools in Delhi, India, using sports and fitness to promote inclusion. Youth leaders trained 50 school-based leaders and organized interactive activation sessions in 20 schools, equipping students and school communities with the tools to build lasting inclusive sports opportunities.

Youth leaders Baqir and Ayan created Unified Leadership opportunities for youth with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities across Lahore, Pakistan. The project resulted in six new Unified Leadership Clubs, empowering youth to lead inclusive activities and strengthen teamwork, planning, and leadership skills.
