Jasmine Sharif

Health Messenger

Jasmine Sharif is from Karachi, Pakistan, and works in the Special Olympics Pakistan office. When she is not swimming, she is often working at her local pool or coaching. She started as a swimmer in Special Olympics in 2014.

Her proudest Special Olympics moments are when she won two gold medals at the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in China and when she was selected to join the Global Athlete Input Council. Currently, Jasmine is on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Pakistan and is Co-Chairperson of the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Athlete Input Council. She trains fellow athlete leaders on improving their leadership skills. She also volunteers at Young Athletes and Healthy Athletes events.

“Whenever there are any Healthy Athletes events, I make sure to go and support the event,” shares Jasmine. “I am trying to be more health conscious. I talk to the athletes on the importance of hygiene and hand washing, and now I help out my health coordinator to motivate other athletes.”

In her free time, she loves to listen to music and to surf the Special Olympics website looking for interesting resources for athletes. Jasmine also enjoys listening to motivational speeches on YouTube and changing the lives of people through Special Olympics.
