Linda Guissel Valladares Hernandez, age 25, is a distinguished athlete and leader from Special Olympics Honduras. Her sports journey began in track and field, but her passion for gymnastics quickly emerged, leading to over eleven years of dedicated practice. Linda represented Honduras at major international competitions, including Special Olympics World Summer Games, Los Angeles 2015; Special Olympics World Games, Berlin 2023; and Special Olympics Latin America Regional Games, Panama, where she earned 15 medals across gold, silver, and bronze categories.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Linda serves as an assistant gymnastics coach, mentoring and teaching the next generation of athletes. Her leadership is further demonstrated through her completion of the Special Olympics Athlete Leadership training modules (2021–2024), culminating in graduation in 2024. In 2021, she expanded her impact by completing the Health Messenger training, actively participating in health and family fairs, supporting Healthy Athlete screenings—especially the Fun Fitness program—and promoting healthy living among her peers.
Linda’s resilience is supported by her family, particularly her mother, who ensures she receives appropriate medical care. Outside her professional commitments, Linda enjoys rhythmic gymnastics, exercise, and dance, reflecting her dedication to both sport and personal well-being.
