Munouwa Haita, born in 2004, is a former student of Moreson Special School in Namibia. He is a dedicated Special Olympics athlete who competes in basketball, soccer, and floorball. He has proudly represented Namibia in both national and international competitions, traveling to Dubai, Australia, and Germany to play sports.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Munouwa is known for his commitment and eagerness to learn. He chose to become a Health Messenger after learning what the role entails, and he loved it. Following his training, he presented the nutrition lessons he learnt to other athletes, led warm-ups, and was responsible for the Health Messengers’ hydration station. Munouwa enjoys learning and teaching about nutrition and different types of food. In addition, he encourages other athletes to visit doctors and not be scared.
He volunteers at the Special Olympics Namibia office as an office assistant, further demonstrating his dedication to the movement and his community. When he is not at Special Olympics, Munouwa spends time fixing cars. He also enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and dancing.
