Tamary Mujaranji is an athlete leader from Zimbabwe. She completed her primary and secondary education at Digglefold Primary School and Marondera High School, respectively. She furthered her studies at Harare Polytechnic, a public technical college in Harare, where she learned how to braid hair and weave.
Tamary has a passion for athletics. One of her notable achievements was representing her community at the National Games, where she earned silver medals in shot put and developmental race.
As a Health Messenger, Tamary promotes and advocates for inclusive health practices, with a particular focus on girls and women with intellectual disabilities. During a visit to her rural community, Tamary observed that some girls continue to use unsafe and unhygienic materials to manage their menstrual cycles, highlighting a significant gap in access to proper information and resources.
To address these challenges, Tamary led an educational discussion and shared practical guidance on menstrual hygiene. Topics she shared included recommendations to bathe frequently during menstruation, the advantages of using clean, reusable sanitary pads, the importance of staying hydrated, and maintaining a balanced diet. By fostering open dialogue, she helped break the stigma surrounding menstrual health.
Within health forums, Tamary is a strong supporter of the Healthy Athletes initiative, emphasizing the critical importance of health in both daily life and athletic performance. She encourages her peers to make informed health decisions, set personal health goals, and recognize their right to access quality healthcare.
Tamary lives with her husband, whom she married in December 2024. Her personal interests include cooking, traveling, and nature walks, all of which support an active lifestyle and a deep connection to nature.
