Mireya is 16 years old and was introduced to Special Olympics in 2023 through an affiliated club at her school. With a long-standing love for sports, she became involved to share that positivity with the wider community. Her journey has taught her the importance of youth leadership in advocating for inclusive environments and bringing people together. Mireya has taken on many leadership roles, from leading Unified workshops to organizing sports clinics, and has competed internationally in both football and basketball. During her term on the Global Youth Leadership Council, she hopes to immerse herself in meaningful discussions, learn from fellow members, and bring her local and national impact to the global stage. She looks forward to collaborating with the team and building lifelong friendships to help create a more unified future.
