Martín from Chile is 21 years old, a leading athlete, and a member of the Athlete Opinion Council. He is currently in his third year of training as a physical education assistant through the Workplace Skills Diploma at Andrés Bello University, where he also serves as President of the program’s Student Center. Martín has been playing field hockey for three years, two of them with Special Olympics, and has taken on leadership roles as a spokesperson and co-host at events, guest on radio and TV programs, and speaker at awareness talks in companies and universities. In 2023, he proudly represented Chile as team captain in field hockey at the Special Olympics tournament in Asunción, Paraguay. Through sport and leadership, Martín continues to promote inclusion and elevate the voices of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
