Luis is 20 years old and has been part of Special Olympics since his elementary school days because of his love for sports and the joy he feels when being part of a team. Encouraged by his coach, who believed in his potential, Luis gave his best and never gave up. Over time, he not only became an athlete but also began assisting as a coach during training sessions. He enjoys participating in athletics, badminton, basketball, and a variety of other activities, and is especially proud of his personal growth. Once very shy and quiet, he now speaks more confidently and has made many friends through Special Olympics. As a member of the Global Youth Leadership Council, Luis is proud to represent athletes like himself and hopes to inspire others to be brave, confident, and believe in themselves.
