Joel Alejandro Vera Flor

Joel is 23 years old and from Asunción, Paraguay. He is an Athlete Leader who practices Taekwondo and Swimming, and is currently part of the inclusive choir of OEP. In 2023, he participated in the Global Athlete Congress held in Berlin—an experience that made him very proud to be selected. The congress changed his perspective on inclusion, showing him how committed Special Olympics is to ensuring that people with disabilities are included in all areas of life. Inspired by that commitment, Joel works every day to promote inclusion in his community and empower other athletes to raise their voices. As a member of the Global Youth Leadership Council, he is excited to keep learning, sharing his experiences, and helping other young people lead with confidence and purpose.
