Alex Alvarado

Powerlifting - Technical Delegate - International Powerlifting Federation

Alex Alvarado is an Electrical Engineer and internationally recognized powerlifting leader with 14 years of experience in the sport, including more than a decade as a competitive athlete. He is an IPF Category 1 International Referee, President of the Puerto Rico Powerlifting Federation, and Secretary General of the North American Powerlifting Federation. Alex has more than 10 years of experience organizing national championships and leading regional powerlifting and bench press championships across North America and the Pan American region. Since 2019, he has worked closely with Special Olympics, providing technical education and competition tools for athletes. In 2024, he served as Technical Director for Powerlifting at the Special Olympics Latin American Games in Asunción, Paraguay.
